Hey everyone,

Today I want to share an important message with you about changing the way you think about dieting and exercising.

The terms “dieting” and “exercising” have always had a negative connotation in my life and I believe it does for many people. I’ve seen many family and friends embark on a journey to diet and exercise only to return to their old habits after they’ve lost the first few pounds.

In order to send out my intention to live a healthier life I want to take some time today to fill you in on my secret to successful in dieting and exercising.

Be healthy by changing your mindset!

It’s very important before you embark on any weight loss journey that you change your mindset. Instead of declaring that you are going to diet and exercise, declare that you are beginning your new healthy lifestyle. To be healthy, make it your goal to figure out how you are going to incorporate healthy eating and exercise in to your life from this point forward.

It’s not a diet,  it’s learning how to be a healthy eater!

Make it your intention to eat healthier and find a more positive word to describe your diet. Instead of calling it a diet I like to call it a healthy eating plan. Like I said before, calling it a diet plan has such a negative connotation for me. Calling it a healthy eating plan makes me feel more motivated to make eating well an important part of my life.

Do some research and find a healthy eating plan that will teach you how to eat healthier and will support your fitness goals. If this is your first time researching or have any medical conditions you should consult with your doctor to help determine the right approach to healthy eating.

It’s not exercise, it’s becoming active!

Make it your intention to be physically fit and find a more positive word to describe exercise. Instead of calling it exercise, I like to call it being active. By saying I’m active I feel as though I’ve already integrated an active lifestyle into my life.

Do some research on activities you would like to take part in. It could be an at home workout program, attending a gym, trying CrossFit or integrating Wii Fit into your daily life. Find something that makes being active FUN! I love Tae Bo® but my intention is to start incorporating additional activities to spice it up a bit.  Again, be sure to consult your doctor to help determine the type of active lifestyle that would be best for you.

You’re not alone, find a community!

I can be difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle if those around you aren’t willing to share that with you. Find a community in your neighborhood or online that is interested in healthy eating, being active and living a healthy lifestyle so you stay encouraged to stick with it!

Thanks for taking the time today to read my post. I loved sharing my secret with you today!

When people eat nutrient dense foods then they are not starving for nutrition and they can eat less. With foods that are not nutrient dense people need to eat too much food to stay the thin. Nutritarians focus on eating nutrient dense foods.
